Summary: The Great Lakes are recognized throughout the world as a crucial part of our environment and economy. These treasured resources are worthy of recent national actions to preserve them for future generations. Closer to home, our local communities and families are suffering from the ravages of a declining industrial base while their elected officials are scrambling to fix numerous holes in nearly all sectors of our economy, both private and public.
The Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds (LGROW) is being founded on the premise that government alone cannot bring about required levels of collaboration necessary to complete our aim: Connecting clean and healthy waters of the Grand River Watershed to life in southern Michigan and throughout the Great Lakes Basin.
Please join us on Friday, November 6, 2009, for our Fall Grand River Forum. The Forum will be held at the GVSU Eberhard Center and will convene citizens, businesses, institutional leaders, community and civic groups, and members from all levels of government. Your active participation at this meeting will ensure our success as a regional organization doing the work we all need to do for the Grand and our shared Great Lakes waterways
