Eric Doyle, LEED®
AP BD+C, ID+C, is a Review Team Leader and Project Administrator with Catalyst
Partners, a West Michigan based business engaged in the development and
implementation of sustainable practices for buildings, interiors, and products.
They specialize in green building design, development, construction, and LEED
certification with energy efficiency services including facility auditing,
modeling, systems design, and tax incentives.
Eric has over 13
years of combined experience in the commercial office interiors and sustainable
design/build construction industry. He has managed and participated in more than
a dozen LEED projects, totaling over one million square feet from coast to
coast.
Beyond his
expertise in sustainable building practices, Eric has a background in technical
education and has been engaged in many educational efforts in the continued
learning of sustainable design, construction, maintenance, and operation. He has
facilitated local LEED study groups, spoken in depth about the LEED process at a
Sustainable Facilities Conference at Princeton University, and has taught green
building concepts to hundreds of industry professionals throughout the world
including Australia, Germany, India, and Japan.
In the field of
innovation, he has worked with the Benchmarking and Certification arm of
McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) to evaluate life cycle assessments
of specific building materials. In this effort, his project was able to realize
a near complete elimination of one controversial material that is reported to
have multiple harmful environmental concerns throughout the lifecycle of the
extraction, manufacturing, use, and end of life disposal.
Finally, Eric is
an active member of the West Michigan Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council
(USGBC) where he participates on the Education Committee. He currently
facilitates a study group of local professionals that are preparing to take the
LEED Green Associate Exam.
Beyond his
professional career in the field of sustainability, he also has a passion for
fine art digital photography and print making, backpacking, fly fishing,
canoeing, cooking, golf and playing a variety of sports with his
son.
Mission: To transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, in a way that improves the quality of life in West Michigan.
