The four story, 127,000 square foot Richard DeVos and Jay VanAndel Academic Building addresses Davenport’s commitment to career-based education by creating a workplace-type environment for students. As a business college, a corporate model was adopted. The academic building houses 50 classrooms, the information commons, bookstore, one-stop-shop, fitness center and a dining facility. Students, faculty and staff experience a high quality visual environment that not only stimulates learning, but saves energy as well. Corridors within the academic building are designed as places for continued learning. Student lounges and faculty offices are dispersed throughout; adjacencies to classrooms provide opportunities for constant interaction between students and faculty.
