Dwelling Place - Martineau Apartments
This project involves the rehabilitation and renovation of four historic buildings to provide approximately 48,000 combined square feet of commercial retail space, art gallery space, and live/work residential units for artists, resulting in the Avenue for the Arts. This project encourages walking, biking, and busing. Reuse of the existing building minimizes landfill debris, and new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing incorporates energy-efficient building systems. The entire building has been thoroughly designed and upgraded to reduce the amount of energy consumption and improve the long term maintenance costs of utilizing these historic structures. The Martineau Project illuminates the way toward a bright future for the rebirth of the Heartside Historic District.
