GVSU Laker Turf Building
Opened in September 2008 and located on the Grand Valley State University Allendale Campus, the 136,000-square foot Laker Turf Building was built to help meet the increasing demand for movement science, intramural and club sport activities and features a six-lane, 300-meter indoor track, 100-yard turf field for football, soccer, lacrosse and other field activities.
The Laker Turf Building showcases Grand Valley’s commitment to sustainable progress and was constructed to meet or exceed LEED standards. The project incorporated sustainable building strategies including site development, water savings, energy efficiency, material selections and indoor environmental air quality. As a result, the U.S. Green Building Council has awarded the Laker Turf Building the LEED Gold rating.
