Saint Mary's Southwest
Saint Mary’s Southwest is a one-of-a-kind health care center located in the township of Byron Center and is specifically designed for easy navigation and faster treatment.
The LEED-certified facility excelled in indoor environmental quality, materials and resources, and water efficiency. Saint Mary’s Southwest promotes an environmentally friendly lifestyle and maintains green operating initiatives. The facility utilizes a 12,000 gallon rain cistern for storm water capture and irrigation. Low-VOC materials help prevent indoor air contaminants, and indigenous plants eliminate the need for fertilizer outside. A white roof reflects sunlight during the day, while exterior lighting designs prevent light pollution at night. A roundabout enhances local traffic flow, and bike racks and shower facilities are provided on site to encourage alternate transportation to work.
