West Michigan Environmental Action Council

The East Hills Center of the Universe is a direct result of a ten-year grassroots organizing effort by the local neighborhood association, the East Hills Council of Neighbors (EHCN). The goal for the neighborhood was to revitalize a vacant, contaminated Brownfield located within a mixed-use central corridor. The partnership between Bazzani Associates and the neighborhood association resulted in the East Hills Center (of the Universe).

Since 1968, WMEAC has served as West Michigan’s leading voice for environmental protection. WMEAC is committed to empowering West Michigan’s citizens, businesses, institutions and organizations with the tools they need to become better stewards of our environment. Their voice now includes a work environment that sets an example of sustainable building strategies and features the best practices of regional furniture manufacturers.
