The Environmental Law & Policy Center (ELPC) seeks to hire a Project Director for our new Michigan Power Plants to Parklands project. The Project Director will have proven expertise to be the lead advocate and entrepreneurial doer to engage effectively with utilities and diverse public constituencies on this innovative new project to seize the once-in-a-generation opportunity to help transition retired coal plant sites into public parklands and new solar energy generation combined with energy storage development in Michigan.  The Project Director will likely bring experience and knowledge in areas such as:  industrial site redevelopment, sustainable economic development, environmental and conservation land deals, and/or real estate development, particularly green buildings.


The Project Director will lead a four-person team of ELPC expert staff and additional consultants and advisors to effectively engage in advocacy involving creative eco-business deal-making with utilities, local government officials, local community and conservation groups and other stakeholders to achieve the goal of transforming retired coal plant sites in environmentally beneficial and economically achievable ways. The Project Director is a full-time ELPC senior staff position based in Michigan with a salary of $110,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and location, plus full benefits.
