Line 5 West Michigan Engagement Coordinator for MiCAN

The Michigan Climate Action Network (MiCAN) is seeking an organizer to dramatically increase momentum in support of shutting down the Enbridge Line 5 pipeline, specifically within the geographic area of Michigan Congressional District 3. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the legal and political history of Line 5, familiar with civic priorities and groups in the greater Grand Rapids and Muskegon areas, and have experience in public policy advocacy, organizing, and networking. The successful candidate will work closely with the larger Oil and Water Don’t Mix Coalition to achieve statewide and federal goals. This position is half-time with dedicated funding for six months, and will be re-evaluated at the end of the contract with the potential for renewal.
