Eco-Stewardship Invasive Learning Day @ Canonsburg SGA

February 10 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Friends of Cannonsburg State Game Area are partnering with Kent Conservation District to control several aggressive non-native invasive species including bittersweet vine and autumn olive at Cannonsburg State Game Area. Learn how to properly identify and treat invasive species, winter is one of the best times of the year for woody invasive control.

Treatment will involve cut stump herbicide application on targeted species that are growing unchecked. Learn about habitat restoration and non-native invasive species that alter ecosystem processes in complex ways.

Stay for an hour or the morning. 9:30-12:30. Wear warm clothes. All supplies, gloves, eye protection and tools will be provided by the strike team. Families and individual students welcome. For questions call Jessie at Kent Conservation cell:(248) 245-3977.
