Mill Race Park Invasive Species Project

February 10 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Volunteers will work with the Grandville Environmental Sustainability Committee and the expert staff of the Kent Conservation District to address several non-native invasive plant species that are degrading the natural areas of Mill Race Park.

The project is outdoors, and please dress for the weather. Some areas will likely be muddy, and we strongly encourage waterproof boots.

Please bring your own water and snacks. All necessary instructions, tools and supplies, including light work gloves, will be provided on site. Waiver forms will be required. This family-friendly project does involve sharp objects and herbicide; children under 13 not permitted. Children 13 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or designated organization leader for the duration of the event.

Pets are not permitted at volunteer events due to safety concerns.

In the event of rain, the project will be rescheduled to Saturday Feb 17th. We will post to Facebook and email confirmed registrants no later than 8 am Feb 10th should the rain date be needed.

This event is part of the newly formed Growing a Greener Grandville partnership to create a National Wildlife Federation Community Wildlife Habitat.
